After the painful performance of Britney Spears at last years MTV Awards her performance was one to look forward to. And she came, laughed – but didn’t dance. Instead she took along some prizes. Just like Tokio Hotel. After drugs scandals and battle over the children pop princess Britney Spears is gonna make a comeback at the MTV Video Music Awards. The 26 year old took along 3 prizes at Sunday nights show in Los Angeles. Besides the award for best video from a female artist and the best pop video she also became for “Piece of me” the award for video of the year. “First and foremost I would like to thank god, that I am so blessed. Thanks to my wonderful family, my two wonderful boys who inspire me every day and my fans – this one is for you”, Britney says, that was on stage with blond hair a well trained body wearing a silver outfit. Spears has been negatively in the news for the last few months with a bolt head, alcohol scandals and a big fight over the right to see her children Sean Preston and Jayden James with her ex husband Kevin Federline. In February her father took over the control over his daughter after which she went to a psychiatrist. Now the singer has finally made it after all those years. Already in 1998 her first album “Baby one more time” was a big success. For the MTV Video Music Awards, Spears was already nominated 16 times, but didn’t win any until now. Another surprise was the award for the German teen band Tokio Hotel: There video „Ready, Set, Go“ was crowned with the MTV awards for best video from a new artist. The best dance video became „When I grow up“ from the pussycat dolls, Best rock video „Shadow of the day” from US band Linkin park. Best video from a male „With You“ from R&B singer Chris Brown.
